Colby's 4th Birthday Party

Laina and I attended Colby's fourth birthday party last weekend. Hard to believe these two are already four years old. Laina and Colby were born 3 days apart at the same hospital and had their first play date soon after they were born! Karla and I had rooms at the hospital right next door to each other. Then once we got home, Karla and I muddled through those early mommy-hood days together. That creates a bond to day the least! Happy 4th Birthday Colby! We had a great time at your party!

Happy FOURTH Birthday Laina: Birthday Extravaganza Part III

Happy Fourth Birthday Laina! What a busy day we had!

First, you woke up at 6:00 a.m. ready to go!
Luckily we had 2 gifts upstairs waiting for you so you crawled into bed and got to it!

Then we went downstairs and you opened our other gift.

Good Night My Little 3 Year Old

Dear Laina,

Here you sleep, your last night as a 3 year old! Tomorrow you will wake up a big 4 year old girl! You were officially born at 4:00 p.m. but Daddy insists it was really 3:59 p.m. You can ask him about that some day. I can't believe we've been together for four years. I can't really remember our life before you were in it. It just seems we've always been a family, you me and Daddy. The past four years have just flown by. I feel like you went from toddler to little kid in the blink of an eye! This is an exciting year for you. You will start school when you are four. If Daddy and I think you are a smart cookie now, wait until you start soaking up all school has to offer you. You are such a sweet, lovable little girl. Sleep well my love, tomorrow is a busy, exciting day!

Birthday Extravaganza, Part II - - CUPCAKES!

Ms. Laina was very excited to bring cupcakes to school today to share with her friends. We bake them together, Mommy frosts them and Laina decorates! We decorate in the driveway....and then Mommy doesn't care where the sprinkles end up!

Princess Laina's Birthday Extravaganza, Part I

This year I decided to do two parties for Laina! She's in a bigger school now with a lot of friends and has begun to be invited to various "kid birthday parties". In return, she wanted the same. I didn't want to let go of my family gathering. I just couldn't picture my family sitting through a kid bash at some kid focused center so I decided I would do two parties. This is probably the last year for the family party so I really wanted to enjoy every moment of it, which I truly did. Laina is so excited for her birthday and her excitement is contagious!

Baking one of the many cakes needed for our castle cake. This was the first time Laina wanted to use the mixer. Usually its too loud for her but this time she was into it. She cracked all the eggs, poured all the liquid into the cake mix and she mixed the cake. Pretty soon she'll be decorating them for me!
