Daddy's Birthday

Laina was SO excited to celebrate Daddy's birthday - - almost, almost as excited as she was about her own birthday. Joe took the day off work. We brought Laina to school and Joe had the day to relax. In the middle of the day, I blindfolded him and whisked him off to his surprise birthday destination - a relaxing massage at my favorite spa. For dinner, I made him a full Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings. Laina and I baked a cake for Daddy and I decorated it in Black & Gold for the Steelers and Penguins. I dyed the frosting black and it turned our tongues black, which Laina thought was just the best thing ever!

Happy Happy Happy Birthday Daddy! We love you very much!

Laina, Cooper and I attended a "Howl-O-Ween Party" at a local pet store. It was very cute. This year for Halloween, Laina is Dora and Cooper is Boots! Here's a few pictures of they dynamic duo!

Fashion Show!

I love how much Laina likes clothes. She loves shopping for clothes, picking them out, trying them on, modeling for Daddy, she loves the whole process which makes shopping with her that much more enjoyable. Here's a little Laina fashion show.

Apple Picking, Part 2

We headed back to Doles Orchard to do more apple picking. Have I mentioned how much I love fall activities? They had a great Acoustic duo playing and although it was very very cold, we had a great time. We picked some golden delicious and macintosh apples. The goldens were for eating (and yummie yummie they were!) and the macs were for making apple crisp which we did and we brought it to Grammy & Grampy's house to enjoy with them. Another super fun day.

Max's 4th Birthday

Laina and I were invited to Max's 4th birthday party and had a wonderful time! The weather was beautiful, the kids painted pumpkins, ate apples pizza & cake, played games and had a fun time being together. Laina, Max & Colby have been friends since they were in utero and so its fun to watch them grow up together. Hard to believe they're all four years old now. The other fun thing about this party is that Max happens to live across the street from "Survivor Bob". Bob was the winner of Survivor Gabon, which Joe and I watched faithfully (along with every other season of Survivor!). When I arrived at the house, Bob happened to be outside so I couldn't pass up a photo opportunity!

Her Faithful Friend By Her Side

Laina was a little under the weather earlier this week. Nothing major just a cough and some sniffles. On Wednesday it was a wet, cold, rainy, dreary day and since she wasn't feeling great we decided to just stay inside and rest. This of course meant more then an average days worth of TV viewing but every now and again, that's ok in my book. Laina rested a lot on Wednesday and her faithful friend Cooper was right by her side. These two are so sweet together.

Why I Love Fall Sundays In Maine...

Fall weekends in Maine are just the best, especially in October when the temps cool off but its not cold enough to need a winter coat yet. The air is crisp and clean, everything smells wonderful, the colors are vibrant and the weekend activities are just fun! Here's what we did this weekend.

Saturday evening Laina and I baked a batch of banana chocolate chip muffins
Muffins are all set for the morning
We wake up and cook apple maple chicken sausage
And enjoy breakfast of eggs, sausage, muffins, coffee & milk - yum!
Then after church and lunch we head to find pumpkins
We take pictures in an apple....
And pose as a bunch of flowers...
We snuggle on a hayride....
Enjoying the afternoon together....
We take over the wagon....
We climb a rock...
We visit with Wilbur...
We enjoy a pumpkin whoopie pie....
And indulge in a caramel apple...
Delish!
We take a walk through the hay maze....
And we're proud of ourselves when we make it through to the end...
We marvel at the gorgeous foliage....
And this is why I love Fall Sundays in Maine!
