Happy Thankgiving!
We had a very nice, very quiet Thanksgiving at home. We returned from our vacation the Monday before Thanksgiving so we just decided to have a very low key day at home. It was really nice. Here are a few pictures of Laina and Joe and Thanksgiving dinner.

The Best Vacation Ever!
We had the most wonderful vacation ever ever ever ever. We visited my brother in Florida and also spent some time at the most magical place on earth. Visiting the Magic Kingdom was incredible. We've been to Disney before Laina was born and we certainly had fun, but going to the Magic Kingdom with a four year old princess and Mickey obsessed little girl was truly amazing. I cannot describe the feeling of laying eyes on the castle for the first time. Laina was overwhelmed. I was overwhelmed! I had tears in my eyes watching her take it all in. Everything was just perfect. We spent two full days at the parks plus attend the Christmas party. The coolest thing was the snow that falls along Main Street...real snow...cold and wet and of course melts on contact because its so warm out. The parades were wonderful, the shows were amazing, the characters were incredibly fun to meet, lunch at the castle was excellent, the rides were a blast....just a perfect week! Between my brother and I we took over 1500 pictures during the week. It's really hard to narrow it down to your favorite two or three...but here I go.

The Lake Douglas Ranch
My brother lives in a 12 acre ranch in Central Florida. As part of our most excellent vacation, we stayed at his ranch. How relaxing. It was like staying at a spa. My favorite thing was drinking my coffee in the morning, on the large deck that looks out on to the property. You can see horses, cows, the barn, trees and you hear nothing....nothing. It was so peaceful. I sat out there and read my book for hours, occasionally visited by Mo & Savannah, Dan & Luke's super sweet German Shepherds and an occasional visit from Laina. Laina got to ride the horses and feed the cows - the full ranch experience! Thank you Dan and Luke for a wonderful peaceful week. After the hustle and bustle of the parks, it was so nice to come back to a comfortable house to rest and recharge.

A Night Away
In the beginning of November, Auntie Di came to stay at the house to look after Laina and our furry friends so that Joe and I could have a night away. How great! We stayed at a wonderful bed and breakfast in Maine. Even though we weren't too far from home, we felt like we were worlds away. We're very grateful to Auntie Di for letting us get away!

Catching Up
OK, I'm a little behind on blogging. Partly it's because we've been busy, partly its because we didn't do a whole lot in November, partly its because Blogger's photo upload drives me up a wall, and partly I've been busy. This blog is important to me. It tracks Laina's every move and I'm turning into books that she will be able to enjoy when she is older. So despite everything I listed above...here I go....catching up on the past month or so.
