I cannot believe another year of dance has come and gone. Little Laina may only be 4 years old but she has just completed her 3rd year of dance - so she's been dancing almost all her life! she loves dance and loves her teacher. Next year Laina will be in Kindergarten which means she will have to take dance as an afternoon class and that means a different teacher. So many big transitions for my little girl coming up!

My Monkey
This is Laina's latest obsession. And I mean OBSESSION. This is all she wants to do at the playground. So much so that she has developed blisters on her hands! They have monkey bars at her school but the rule is you have to be 5 years old to use them. This is a major bummer for Laina. The silly thing about the rule is there are kids in her class that are way smaller and way less strong than she is but because they have already turned 5 they can use the monkey bars. Oh well. When life hands you lemons....you head to the playground near the ocean and have fun on the monkey bars!

Auntie Di Comes to Town
I was changing the sheets on Laina's bed and she asked me "why are you changing my sheets, Mommy". I replied that her sheets just needed to be changed. She then asked "are we having a visitor"? Smart kid. Whenever a visitor comes to town, Laina bunks in our bedroom and her room turns into a guest room so a lot of times when I'm changing her sheets its because a visitor is coming. I still didn't want to give away the surprise so I replied that we didn't have a visitor coming this time. Then I asked her, "if we did have a visitor coming, who would you want it to be?" And she replied...."AUNTIE DI!" Well, lucky her - because that's exactly who was coming to visit. When Auntie Di showed up later that night for dinner time, Laina was very excited! She stayed with us for almost a whole week! Laina asked if she could stay until Christmas! Ha ha.

Backyard Bubbles!
BUBBLE STUFF!!!
Laina and I had a wonderful time playing in the backyard. It was a nice warm spring day and the sun was shining and the bubbles were flying. Great day! The picture of Ms. Laina standing by the tree reminds me of a pose for a Senior Portrait - scary to think we'll ever be there. But then again, I didn't think she would ever be heading off to Kindergarten and well, that's just a few short months away. *sigh*

A great day to visit the fairy houses
We went to Mackworth Island to visit the Fairy Houses. This is a place that Joe and I used to go all the time when we lived in Portland. Its such a peaceful place to walk around. There's parts that are dark and covered with forest area, there's parts that are bright sunny and beachy, there's a rocky edge - it has it all! And now it has fairy houses. I'm not sure where this evolved from but in the foresty section of the island people have started building little fairy houses and its rather magical and whimsical. We packed a picnic lunch and walked around for a good 2 or 3 hours enjoying the beauty of Maine. When all was said and done both Cooper and Laina rested very well that night!

Easter Weekend
Oh we had a fun Easter weekend. The weather was amazing - like the middle of summer and that definitely added to the festivities. Grammy and Grampy came up for the weekend and Laina just loves playing with Grampy so she was in her glory. We colored Easter eggs, had an Easter egg hunt, visited with family, went to church, had a yummy ham dinner, enjoyed goodies left by the Easter bunny and made 2 pretty cute bunny cakes!
